5 Ways to Stick With Your Ab Workout

Find the Time

We all have busy lives but that isn't a good enough excuse to put off exercising. According, to the American Heart Association Guidelines we should workout 150 minutes per week or 5 times a week for 30 minutes.

Use a calender and come up with a workout schedule that works for you. Here's a tip instead of writing "workout" or "do ab crunches" on your calender write "good health" or "stay healthy". Its a good way to trick your mind into thinking the activity of working out is actually easier then it really is.

Keep An Exercise Journal

Keep track of what ab exercises your doing or other workout routines. Write down how many reps & sets your doing, what kind of exercises, and write down how you feel after the workout. This is a good way for you to stay accountable. Oh yeah, after about 2 weeks your general feeling towards your workout should get better.

Stay Motivated

Don't think about that next sit up or next rep. Always think about the big picture. Remember why your working out. Whether it's good health, flat abs, or a nice but. Keep your workout goal in mind.

Set Realistic Goals

Do you remember that episode of Seinfeld when Kramer decided to run the Aids Marathon with no preparation at all. Well, that didn't go to well for him now did it. Set realistic goals.

Realistic Goal: Lose a couple inches off my waste line.

Unrealistic Goal: Fit into my pair of old blue jeans from high school

Switch it Up-For the Sake of Boring

Ever get tired of your ab workout or exercise routine? If your answer is yes like most of us who have had experience doing the same workout everyday. Then you should try a new workout. Do some research online or ask your friends what exercises they do. Don't fall pray to the exercise rut. Switch it up and keep your exercise routine fresh.

Are Vitamins Really Good For You

"To all my little Hulkamaniacs, say your prayers, take your vitamins and you will never go wrong." - Hulk Hogan"

Could the Hulkster my childhood hero be wrong. A new study that was conducted by Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences found that people have a high risk of mortality if they have low levels and high levels of Vitamin D in their blood stream.

Darshana Durup, a PhD student points out that "We have had access to blood tests from a quarter of a million Copenhageners. We found higher mortality in people with a low level of vitamin D in their blood, but to our surprise, we also found it in people with a high level of vitamin D. We can draw a graph showing that perhaps it is harmful with too little and too much vitamin D".

So I guess Hulk Hogan was wrong when he said take your vitamins and you will never go wrong. The truth is you can go wrong is you take too many vitamins. The sad thing is some people taking vitamins to improve their health might be inadvertently causing harm to their own body because their not vitamin deficient in the first place.

Most Americans aren't vitamin deficient according to the nutrition report put out by the Center of Disease Control & Prevention. The nationwide survey which lasted from 1999-2006 found that only 10% of Americans are deficient in certain vitamins.

Want to know for sure if your vitamin deficient? Your can get a vitamin profile test performed by your physician to see if your deficient in certain vitamins like Vitamins A, Vitamin D, folate, iron, iodine etc. You can find out what vitamins your lacking and what vitamins you can stop taking altogether.

I Want Six Pack Abs for the Summer

Would you like to have six pack abs to flaunt on the beach this summer?

If your answer is yes. You might be a little pudgy around the waist like me. I've always wanted to have ripped six pack abs but I guess I've been to busy pursuing other things in life like going to school and getting a degree. Or at least that's my latest excuse.

Well, now I recently graduated from school, and I have a lot more time on my hands. So I decided that I would try to get six pack abs. My plan is to eat healthy and do ab workouts, so I will look nice and slim for my next job interview.

Here is a cool virtual workout I found on youtube that I'm going to use. This one is easy all you do is work out your abs by copying the moves of the virtual human. The video says you should do this workout 3 times a week every second day e.g. M-W-F. I'll keep you posted and let you know how it goes.
